Just find a way to talk to him to find the real answer to your conflicting thoughts. I don't know if you noticed, but your guy friend likes you and probably been liking you for quite awhile. He thought you might have the same feelings sooner or later. He feels hurt that you don't like him. It's my opinion based on watching shows, movies, and reading. To get a valid answer, just have a conversation with him over your question.
