Why are guys freaking difficult all the time?

so this guy and i had a thing for a little while but lately i havent had time to talk to him through facebook or calling or anything and i dont have texting so i decided since he kept giving me these really mixed signals that i was just going to stop talking to him all together. but on Thursday he asked me what i was doing on friday but i didnt see the message till friday and on friday during school in the hallway right after third hour got over i was walking to my locker and he like called my name but i just kept walking. then later he walked past my lunch table and stopped right in front of it and was staring at me. his friend was right behind him and was pushing him forward and said "dude, move what are you doing?Go!" so then he moved and later i replied to him and asked him if he called my name and he was like No? lol but he did so whyd he lie??
