Why does she go back with him?

tuesday my bestfriend (whom i like) called me and was bawling her eyes out because her bf dumped her OVER TEXT annd when she asked why he said reasons. so i thought to myself this is my chance to make her mine! she was very happy without him btw. so i was going to ask her out monday on valentines day. well it turns out today she got back with him. which brings me to my question. she was crying her eyes out. SO WHYD SHE TAKE HIM BACK??? i send her goodmorning texts every morning. i always compliment her. so why doesnt she go for the guy that cheered her up and made her feel better. i just DONT get it.
